ViewSonic 10-point touch display
ViewSonic revealed on Wednesday a new 10-point multi-touch 22-inch display with an ergonomic design, the TD2240. The display features an interesting dual-hinge stand that allows it to lay completely flat like a tablet so that multiple users can interact with the contents on the screen. This display is available now in North America for $489.99 USD.
"Today's consumers are increasingly mobile-savvy and demand the same touch experience of their mobile devices on the desktop," said Kenneth Mau, Product Marketing Manager, ViewSonic. "The TD2240 delivers an industry-leading touch experience with its intuitive touch technology and full feature set."
The specs show that the display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a typical contrast ratio of 3000:1, 178 degree viewing angles, and a typical response time of 25 ms. As for the I/O aspect, the panel provides a VGA port, HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort, audio in, earphone out, and four USB 3.0 ports, one of which connects to the PC for touch.
ViewSonic's new display is also equipped with a scratch-resistant surface, SuperClear technology for "vivid" colors, and two 2-watt speakers. The HDMI port is also MHL compliant, meaning that a connected MHL-capable device will receive a charge while connected to the screen and displaying content.
"Whether consumers are looking for a rich, intuitive interface or commercial environments requiring seamless integration with Windows systems, this display is equipped to meet the consumer demand for touch technology beyond mobile devices," Mau adds.
